Ujjain : Mahakal Temple

In the ancient Mahakal Temple in Ujjain, there is a traditional story about King Vikramaditya. The tale tells of the wise and brave King Vikramaditya, who was destined to sit on the temple’s throne for eternity. According to the story, the king would remain on the throne until a worthy successor emerged to sit beside him and take on his responsibilities. To this day, the throne remains unoccupied, and pilgrims believe that the spirit of the king is still waiting for the arrival of this worthy successor.
